Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Practitioner and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor
Teesa Felt wants to hear your story and support you on the path to wellness. As a Functional Nutrition & Lifestyle Practitioner and Certified Functional Nutrition Counselor in Bend, Oregon, Teesa demystifies and simplifies the challenges of living with autoimmune disease. By identifying the root causes of symptoms and providing guidance and support to make effective diet and lifestyle choices, her clients discover they have the power to help themselves feel better.
Shortly after turning 40, Teesa experienced a host of health challenges, including daily migraines, dizziness, brain fog, dramatic weight loss, hair loss, rashes, and double vision. As a mother of four, she was barely able to care for herself, let alone her young children. Repeated doctors visits, tests, scans, and medications yielded no answers.
Her husband sought new help by looking beyond conventional medicine and consulting a Functional doctor. After thorough consideration of her entire health history she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition, Hashimoto's thyroiditis. Her body, specifically her thyroid, was attacking itself.
Empowered with this new information, Teesa began to understand that all lifestyle choices are connected to overall health and wellness. Her unknown intolerance of grains and dairy had caused system-wide inflammation, creating many of her painful physical symptoms.
Through this process she gained the power to control how she felt everyday, relieving or even eliminating her symptoms by addressing their underlying causes.
Her experiences with miscarriage and infertility, early menopause, polycystic ovarian syndrome, nerve pain, rashes, inflammation, food intolerance, modified diets, post concussion syndrome, insomnia, anxiety, extreme sensitivities, chronically sick children, and autoimmune disease were more than just a string of bad luck. Testing revealed several genetic mutations, an underlying factor to her multitude of health issues.
The discovery of this genetic inheritance compelled Teesa to learn as much as possible to better care for herself and her family by uncovering and addressing the root causes of their symptoms. During this process, she realized that little support is accessible to people working to understand and heal from chronic illness. It can be confusing, overwhelming, scary, and lonely. Making lifelong lifestyle change hard. People suffering with Autoimmune Disease need community and support from others with similar experiences.
Providing compassionate support and simplified resources for people suffering with Autoimmune Disease has become Teesa’s life work as a Functional Nutrition Counselor. Her hardships, triumphs, and education serve as an example that anyone can influence their own health through choices like removing inflammatory foods, fueling cells with nutrient dense foods, addressing nutrient deficiencies, balancing blood sugar, removing toxins, managing stress, sleeping well, and asking the right questions.
Whether you have one or many diagnosed Autoimmune Diseases, or if you have been chasing symptoms with no answers, Teesa can help.
When she’s not helping clients achieve their unique path to wellness, Teesa lives an active, thriving life. She enjoys spending quality time with family and friends, reading, relaxing in hot detox baths, practicing yoga, knitting, listening to live music, and baking.
